bigger than it really is. It is not even in the top 100 countries.

but for some reason it just seems bigger, maybe the hills, the train rides seem to go on forever, last time to seoul seemed like 7 hours. |

I've heard that from nz folks -
back in the u.s. we might make a remark about rhode islanders and the size of their state and how it really should just be a national park, so
where ya' from? let the games begin |

it's 4 hours and 15 minutes from Seoul to Geoje Island off the southeast coast via overnight express bus
it's a small country and it feels like it
I've been from Ulleungdo off the east coast to the westernmost island of Hongdo, Chuncheon to Yeosu, and hundreds of places inbetween
i lived for three years in Hadong, on the border between Gyeongsangnamdo and Jeollanamdo, less than 2 hours from each of Busan (on the east coast) and Mokpo (on the west coast), 3 hours 45 minutes by bus from Seoul, 15 minutes from the south coast
of course, i'm from Canada, so everything's relative: I might find Korea bigger if i came from new zealand or england
I admit that the east coast province of Gangwondo can feel big because of the time it takes, with slower windier roads, and traffic on the peninsula can get insane within metro areas |

I'm from Washington State it is twice the size of Korea and I feel that Korea is pretty large. It might have something to do with the fact that I have to take public transportation instead of personal transportation so I really don't have a feel for the terrain but it does feel relatively large. |
