I read a lot about citizenship and that it matters to employers, so what citizenship tends to be favoured most by employers? |

I think they want "American" accent, and since there is no such thing as this (it is merely a common geographical accent shared by Americans and Canadians, with some regional differences), Canadians are just as good.
I also sense that some Koreans consider Canadians to be fair and tolerant. (note the words some and think, and the absence of the words all and know) |

You should not have differentiated between Americans and Canadians. Often job ads will say North American teachers. So may employers don't see any difference, only Canadians and Americans do. You all look the same to me. |

Probably Canadians first and Americans second since employers have a bizarre attraction to the mythical North American accent (some of the bosses who're really hung up on getting a North American deserve teachers with really impenetrable southern drawls) and Canadian soldiers don't run over small Korean children with cars. I remember one interviewer telling me "you have an accent, the other American didn't have an accent, why is that."
And who the hell said that South Africans are prefered??!?!? That's just surreal. |
