I've been at my elementary PS for 1.5 years now and everything has gone smoothly. My Principal will be retiring after this summer break and the rumour is that the VP will take his place.

On Monday I was walking to work and the sidewalk leading to the school is pretty narrow. I was in a rush because I needed to print some things off before class. The sidewalk was full of children who move like frozen molasses so I went by them on the street. My VP happened to be standing at the school's gate and told me not to do that again. Ok, I thought, walking on the street isn't a great model for the kids.

This morning I arrived at school listening to music like normal. She was standing at the front doors. I removed my earphones and greeted her. She looked displeased and asked if I always listen to music. I told her I have an hour+ commute, so yes I usually listen to music. She said I shouldn't listen to it on the street.

Just now one of my classes got cancelled and she came to the subject teachers' office where I'm working on a lesson. After looking around for 10 minutes, she tells me to tidy up my shoes (2 pairs uder my desk), and then to organize the 100 different wires for all the computers, phones, printers, etc. Because it's very important and that's my job apparently.

I can see it's going to be a long 6 months after my gracious and kind Principal leaves. Sigh.
