I just found out I have a squatter in one of my classes this month. This is how it went down.

At the beginning of the month, we get a student list, but every month, there are late arrivals. That is very normal. It's up to us to check the computer, as they don't give us an updated list.

So I got 3-4 late arrivals as usual, and marked them with pen. One ajumma named Jessica was one of them. She seemed to know a few of the students and they knew her.

Jessica is the worst adult student I have had in a long time. She walks out of class randomly without a word doing God knows what. She puts her head down and waves her hand away if I ask her a question. Other rude things too. Her ability sucks as well.

Today I was checking the computer (15 classes into the month) and she was not on the list. I let the front desk know, and they told me she was not registered to study anything this month. I don't know about previous months.

If I liked her, I might have kept quiet. Today, the manager is coming to my class to talk to her. There is a chance that it's some big misunderstanding I guess, so they want to deal with it.

Lesson learned for me: Check your computer list sooner.

Lesson learned from her: Don't be rude in class. The teacher might keep quiet.

Nice.

Sometimes I have a student like Jessica, who is rude and waves her hand and put her head on her desks when I ask a question.

In this case, I usually just embarrass the hell out of them in front of the other students.

"Does that question makes you sleepy, Jessica? Why do you wave and put your head down? That's a little rude, Jessica."

If she walked out of the classroom randomly, I would probably say something as she's walking out, like "Aaaaand Jessica had a little too much fiber this morning," or "Jessica must go change into her superhero outfit," or "Jessica has a hot date."

Things like that always work for me.

That sucks that she was freeloading though. She showed so little effort in the classroom, why did she even bother sneaking in?

I would just make loud farting noises as she walked towards the door, and then pick up a roll of huuugeeee that is always on the desk and toss it to her.

Did I mention she's an ajumma of about 40-45?

It turns out today the manager was going to come to my class and question her. Jessica either by happy coincidence for herself, left early, and went out the back door. If she knows she's been found out, she won't be back.

Last month's teacher was new, and suspects she free-loaded last month too. Got away with it due to lack of managerial support.

I told the manager to come tomorrow and feel free to interrupt my class to deal with her.
