Just intercept the ship and search it for pity's sakes.

Ha! He could turn the USA into a flaming sea of fire!!! The fire would be hotter than Jin Ramyeon eaten in Daegu in summer time with a tablespoon of gotchujjang spooned in!!! |

My only real concern is they'd shoot chemical based long range artillary rounds at South Korea and then they could invade after knocking out Seoul and much of Gyeonggi-do with toxic gas. I really don't believe they'd use nuclear nor conventional bombs to make a statement like the way they threaten, but chemical gas based weapons are probably the really nasty surprise they got up their sleeve. The reality of this risk is hard to concieve for those lacking military knowledge like most people do. I think the nuclear threat is an over statement to conceal their true actual intentions. Since Kim Jong-Il is old and senile, he could order anything within their capacity and it shows with how he's been increasingly acting crazy with threats and making an unprecidented move like abandoning the Truce. He also drinks Hennesy cognac constantly as it's known he orders $700,000 a year in recent years so he's just an old drunkard losing his mind that the North Korean people have all their faith in him like a god. I'm sure the top world leaders are well aware of this possibility so they're trying to diplomatically diffuse the situation. |

The US has already stated that massive use of chemical weapons by the North would result in a nuclear strike on DPRK.KJI is well aware of this.
Their ploy is to keep up the sporadic provocations (none of them big enough to actually spark a war) and hype up the anti-US rhetoric. That way the regime keeps credibility with the people, wins some placatory aid and concessions, -without actually doing anything extreme enough to bring down the full aggression of the international Community. |

The US would have to be crazy to do a nuclear strike on North Korea as it would effect their neighbors and hurtle us into a world war no one wants not to mention the severe deep long term economic hardships it would cause many including America itself. It's hard to say how this situation will turn out, but it's changing and would be in everyone's best interests to just call stalemate and work on unity to pull together or at least shut up and mind each others business. |

Well, we've got a global economic depression which as usual will just happen* to lead to another world war.
I don't think they'll be able to get it kick started here, though. Watch out for Iran though, especially if Russia gets involved. |
