|
|
I'm coming over to live in this city in September and was wondering if there are any good bookstores catering to English readers? Hopefully reasonably priced ones, and I don't mind buying second hand either.
One of the things I can't do without is a good book. I read like crazy, anything from trashy thriller novels to serious non-fiction or travel memoirs, and don't want to be without my fix for too long when I get over.
Any information appreciated |

There are a few bookstores in Gwangju (Jeollanam-do's Gwangju), but none of them are particularly well-stocked in English reading books. However, the Gwangju International Center has books for loan, and I order my books from What the Book out of Seoul-- they can get you almost anything you want and are reasonably priced, and they ship to your door. They have been my lifeline as I am located even farther south than Gwangju! They also have a physical store in Seoul that is well worth visiting a couple times a year. My problem now is: What do I do with the hundreds of books I have amassed??
Their website is: whatthebook.com. |

I know of three. They are just large Korean bookstores with small English sections. One is in the bus terminal, and one is next door to Starbucks in the downtown area. The other is more of an academic bookstore for English teachers where you can buy textbooks and other class material. They also have a small English fiction section.Whatthebook ships for free anywhere in Korea.
For me, getting reading material here has never been a problem. |

Not sure exactly where yet, but in a Public School on the EPIK Program. All I know at the moment is my contract's in the post and I got my first choice Gwangju. |
