I don't know what's going on. For some reason, my shower is cold. It's always been cold and nothing I can do can make it warm. It's basically a showerhead attached to the sink in my bathroom.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Some switch I need to press or something I need to do? The water in my kitchen is cold as well.

It's so frustrating, and I didn't want to bother my co-teacher with it until now because if something is wrong, someone will probably have to come to my apt., and she'll want to be there (she always does), but seriously, I'm tired of taking cold showers!

Thanks! Very Happy

1. is your gas connected?

2. show us your thermostat - i.e. the control panel for your floor and water heating

3. may be you turn the water on too much

4. may be the hot water pipe has been shut off

I don't know how to do any of this. My shower has never been warm/hot. I've only been here for two weeks and it was cold the first night I was here.

How do I check to see if my gas is connected?

How can I check my thermostat/control panel?

Thank you for your help.

Can you cook? Is there gas coming out of your gas cooker?

Take a picture of your thermostat/control panel and we'll tell ya.

Yes, I can cook! I don't have camera but I'll try to take one with my webcam.

Where would my thermostat/control panel be? By the cooker?

No, you are doing something right!

Cold showers are the way to better health.

Been doing them for years now.

All seasons. Twisted Evil

I had this same problem when I first arrived in Korea.
Turn on the heating of the water at the room heating panel (there will be one, maybe in the master bedroom or near the front door). There will be lots of buttons you can't understand, but any neighbor can tell you how to do it, just ask someone to help you, and explain you need a hot shower and they'll show you which button needs to be on before that'll happen.
Because it's summer and your apt isn't heated, you don't have any warm water in the pipes at all, if you'd arrived in winter, you may not have had this issue at first anyway...

If the shower is cold, you have to turn the handle to the red color indicator or letter H

similar issue here.

my shower worked fine for the last year and a half. few weeks ago it changed. the water didnt get cold, more of cooler than room temperature. turns out building either cut off the gas or lowered the limit temperature. had to call my building manager to tell him to turn it back up. im paying my full rent, i want hot water when i want it.

they turned it back because its summer and i guess they thought "oh, no one wants hot water in the summer".... wrong. i will rinse will cold water at the end of my shower to give me a "fresh" feeling, but something aobut showeing cold just doesnt feel right. like, it feels like the soap doesnt work in cold water. ridiculous i know, but i just feel cleaner washing with hot water.

it turns out there was some work being done with pipes etc in the area. the hot water came on the next day.

It's time to play a new game of "hunt the boiler control panel" with your host, Straphanger!

Now, when you get home from work tonight, look EVERYWHERE. On the walls. Behind doors. Behind the fridge. In closets. In the last place you look, you'll see a little panel with some buttons on it and a display that is dark. Push the one that makes the display light up. You're golden in the shower!

This clearly seems like a matter of just turning on your water heater. Like others have said, find your thermostat. It has to be there. Turn it on and take a picture and post that up.

Also, you need to determine how your water is heated, either gas or electric. If it's gas then you'll find a large metal reservoir in an off room of your house. It should have some type of tube on the outside with (hopefully) some liquid in it. That tube is to let you know how much gas you have. If it's empty, have your co teacher call a gasoline supplier.

If It is electric instead of gas, disregard.

Either way, make sure that you post pics or bring one to your co teacher to translate. There should be a button on the thermo just to turn on the hot water heater. It makes 0 sense to turn the whole system on to shower.

It seems this could have been taken care of in just a few minutes if the OP asked the co-teacher. Every apartment is different (and some highly unusual).
