I don't know how to use it. Do I have to download some software or something? I am using Korean Windows Vista, maybe I just can't find the program because my Korean is not great.
I also have the same question about the fingerprint reader. How do I get that guy working?

Webcam's need software. If your laptop didn't come with the software pre-installed then you'll need to download the webcam software for that brand and model from the manufacturers website.

Would Vista not have some generic plug-in for web cams? I thought Vista could do plug n' play...?

What programs are you trying to use it with? Skype?

The driver for the cam should be in the CD with drivers. If you didn't get the CD, just go to the manufacture's website and get the drivers from there. And no vista will not have the 3rd party drivers for these built in webcams. I've tried installing the latest vistas on few of my friend's laptops and didn't recognize the webcams on there laptops

Says it's bundled with the OS, no driver needed. Hhmmm

You could try this then. Go to control panel and go to "add hardware". then tell it to find the drivers in the system

I think I got what you're missing. Try to download the utilities for your webcam if it doesn't have it already at the MSI site. There's one for vista and winxp That should make it work

Skype usually gets the webcam choice wrong until you correct it. Try the 'Video Settings' in Skype and use the pull-down menu to try and activate your camera.

when I bought my windbook last summer, it had a webcam already installed but it wasn't working yet either - I went over the manual with a fine comb, I vaguely recall having to enable it somewhere -

you don't need drivers or a cd or any of that - you just need to turn it on in the system, so to speak, I don't recall if it was in the boot up menu (probably not) or over in the system utilities but I'd look in both.

it's not unusual for such features to be disabled until the user enables them.

try taking it to a K computer shop and asking them to do it for you if your language skills are weak - you'll never find it probably.

Yeah, I had the same experience. It was two years ago for me, but somewhere in your preferences you have to chose to enable the webcam. Sorry, I don't remember where it was but probably in the control panel somewhere?

Hi, thanks for all the help.
I finally got the thing working. I had to get the drivers CD and install a program called AVEOCap. I did this a few days ago, but didn't reboot my computer, which I wasn't prompted to do. Anyway, after rebooting, it works fine. Thanks again everyone, and maybe this thread will help someone else.
