I'm moving to Ansan city in southern Seoul in September. I'm planning on traveling around to other countries in the area as well as all around Korea. What vaccinations should/must I get? |

Barrel Fever, Consumption, Canker Rash, Dyspepsia, Putrid Fever and Yellow Jacket should cover it. |

I have my immunization card right here, and they were REALLY expensive back home ($1000 and insurance doesn't cover travel vaccines)...
I got a Hep A / Hep B, Typhoid, Tetanus (booster), and Diphtheria (I think that's what Td means).
You can get them in-country LOADS cheaper, and make sure you go BACK and get tested for antibodies on the Hepatitis. Some people think you can get vaccinated and you're golden, when sometimes your body just doesn't produce the required bug-killing nasties. |

Thanks for the response. $1000? That seems a little pricey?! I'm looking online and for all of those you listed it's about $150 student health services at UC. |

Most of that was just the one...Hep A/B I think? If I remember right... It's only good for two years, and it's a series. Those shots at County Health were $150 *each* (three shots total, one month apart). |

TB rate is very high in South Korea. I wish I had gotten a TB Vaccination before I came. |

Your doctor or County Health Dept has the list of recommended travel vaccinations for South Korea. If you ask them, they'll give you the whole shooting match.
As for TB, unless you're a child, there really isn't a vaccine for you, sorry ..
If you have a chronic, productive cough with blood in the sputum, go tot he hospital and ask the doctor to test for a pleural effusion and spin your blood for TB. I didn't get the "red circle" test here, apparently medical science has advanced since the last time I had a TB test. |

Get the Hep A and B Twinrex vac...
If you get Hep you cannot drink because it messes up your liver. |

Just went to the doctor. They recommended Hep A and B, Typhoid, Japanese Ensiphelitis, and a few others... The ensephilitis was $400! and the others are like $50 each... Damn profiteers |

yeah...
I got the Japanese Encephalitis vaccination because I'm a Paranoid Floyd.
It's only really seriously recommended if you plan on spending more than 30 consecutive days in a rural area.
Something about the mosquitoes that prey upon livestock.
The name of it is really scary so I decided to get it. Probably wasn't necessary.
I paid $510. Ugh.
I could have spent that money on liquor(s).
Also Hep A / B and Typhoid. And a Tetanus booster is recommended after 10 years have passed. But you can always go get it right after you accidentally swallow the rusty object. |

Go to the nearest military hospital and ask for the anthrax vaccine. You know because of north Korea and all. |

About how much can I expect to pay in Korea for the Hep A and typhoid vaccines? (I've got all the others).
I just wasted a colossal amount of time trying to get the Hep A vac in the states (my US doctor is awesome and was trying to get my insurance to cover it, but the bleeping nurse who was to administer the shot insisted on mentioning "travel"... thus they won't cover it). Anyways, any info you have on the cost is appreciated! |

Vaccinations are a scam and bad for your health. You believe in them because of bogus info fed to you over many years by the drug companies and their drug pushing white coated mafia. Now a bunch of science believers and not knowers will get angry at this post. |
