I have been offered a position in Bangyi dong and am looking to see what the area is like. Is this a good part of Seoul? Anybody have any information they could pass out about the location?
I've tried doing some googling but I only get hotel listings and other things.
Thanks! |

Find out if it's the same Bangi-dong that's close to Chamshil. If so, you're in luck because it's right next to Olympic Park and Chamshil - home of Lotte World. Nice area, plenty of open spaces and park areas, but still within a few minutes of COEX Mall, Samsung station and Kangnam area. Lots to do there, plenty of nightlife, and the scenery...well, simply the best in Seoul if you know what I mean. |

I have lived in Bang-I dong for the past 6 years...
and I still believe its the best place in Seoul...
situated on the eastern-border of Seoul (surrounded by mountains) - 5 minutes by bus and you are out of Seoul in Gyeonggi-do headed towards Hannam City (so lots clean fresh air)
everything is here - and it is a clean, modern place to live with the convenience of everything that you want (Homeplus, Jamsil, Lotte world, Lotte department store, Seokcheon lake, Olympic park, (the famous and kept-secret red light district - with restaurants, bars, clubs, massage parlours, love hotels, etc), all the western restaurants (VIPS, Outback steakhouse, TGIF etc etc) nearby Cheonho (Hyundai department store, Emart, Kims club) etc
30 minutes subway to Itaewon
5-minute ride (5,000won) taxi to Technomart
2 minute (3,000won) taxi to Asan Hospital (one of the best and friendliest hospitals for foreigners in Seoul)
Oh - also lots of foreigners here - especially the quiet, respectable, married type |
