I got a friend's birthday coming up. We play pool all the time, but the sticks are usually trash. Always have to go through about 5 or 6 to find a straight one. Where can I buy one in or around Seoul? A place with a decent selection would be nice. Thanks in advance. |

You can get them online, or what I have done the last couple of times is to ask the boss of the Pool hall where I play. Just make sure he gets you a "Pocketball" cue and not a "Sa-Gu" stick as they are different.
There are also specific cues just for breaking, but apart from being heavier, I don't think they make a noticeable difference to your play unless you are almost pro level.
Expect to pay between 30 - 70 for the kind you find in a bar, and 150 - 300 for a "good" one. They will usually throw in a soft case, chalk and other paraphenalia like sandpaper, tips, glue etc. Make sure they give you the same color chalk as the color of the cloth in the place you play at.
If you play in a bar, ask the bar manager who installed the table, or who replaces the cloth when it gets damaged. That guy will be able to hook you up. |
