Hi,
Just wondering - is it difficult to get diabetic medicines in S. Korea? Pills, test strips and lancets? Do I have to go for an appt. with a doc. to get such things? |

You'll need a doctor for the pills. They are relatively cheap here. The others may be purchased at a drugstore. You may be able to use the blood testing machine you have here depending on the model... I couldn't find strips for mine here but you may get lucky.
I make a monthly trip to the doctor and he prescibes the pills for me every month... amedryl I believe. If your taking medication currently, maybe bring the bottle and some information from your doctor in your own country about your requirments. |

Large hospitals may have a Diabetic Clinic. I know the one nearest me does with US trained doctors too! Two of my co-workers have diabetes and have had no trouble with meds or equipement in Korea. |

We have a diabetes education center at our hospital that can provide you with your prescriptions and any other materials you may need. You'll find the prices with NHI very reasonable in Korea.
If you'd like more information give us a call at 02-440-7304 or visit our website...

Diabetes is a huge problem in Asia. Finding supplies won't be a problem. |
