card?
I submitted the application to my Hagwon around the start of June and still haven't received it. I ask my Hagwon, but they keep pushing the date back by a day, until today when I was told I would have it July 8th. The only reason I'm worried is that I need to have it in order to open a bank account at a branch where I can send money home.
Do they REALLY know when I'll have it, or are they just telling me a date to keep me at bay.
Suggestions? |

It all depends on when your school submitted the paperwork and when they intend to go and pick it up. It takes on average 10 business for immi to do their part.
That sounds about right for a hakwon (doing things to suit them with little concern for you). |

Ah, so hypothetically it's done and they just haven't gone to pick it up? |

I believe they are delivered to you. At least mine were in the past.
The paperwork probably sat at your hagwon for the month of June as they feel other things are more important than you are. |

Yeah... like not having to 'buck up' matching pension contributions, NHIC premiums etc.
OP,
You must be proactive. While you (legally) have 90 days (from date of entry) to apply for your ARC, there are many disadvantages to not applying for it. 'Stalling' tactics are a classic way crooked hogwan owners get around the law - they prey on the ignorance of waygooken employees.
Tell your boss you are going to Immi. to do it yourself... and do it! |
