depends what you want to do - if all you want to do is blog, there are many
blogger.com is one, wordpress.com is another.
What do you want to host? I have a server and space - but I wouldn't just give it away to just anyone |

I suppose you could call it a blog, but mainly it will be a n event publicity / info site.

| I used to use freewebs.com, and it used to be good. Now they pretty much suck. They introduced a file size limit that you have to pay to surpass and started putting ads on your pages that you have to pay to get rid of. It used to be completely free, no ads and a file size limit you could surpass after you were a member for a month or so. |

If you do not need to have your own domain, and are happy with crescent.kimchi.co.kr or something like that, you might ask your students for webhosting leads. I used to have service for 10,000 a year in Korea. This will not give you huge amounts of space and there may be limitations on media files, but there will be no irritating ads, which I think is unavoidable with a Geocities-type free webspace.
