I will be in Korea for 2+ years and won't be teaching, but studying and researching. I need to find some insurance that will cover me well in Korea, and since there is a slight chance that I might try to have a kid in Korea (down the road) I don't want to skimp too much. My husband will also need insurance, but only for the 6 months he is a student- after that he will be teaching so I assume he'll be on the national plan.
Can a spouse ever be covered on a teacher's national plan, and are maternity/dependent children covered? It's hard to find information on this, but I'm a bit concerned because of President Lee's supposed plans to "Americanize" the Korean health care system (great move, buddy!).
Also, since I've heard dental is still cheap, am I right in assuming that we don't really need separate dental? It would add about $350 to each of our plans per year.
Thank you for your advice/plan recommendations! |
