Not soon enough!, silly ajumma said "short time" with thumb and index finger close to each other, but no, she was just trying to get a membership card out of me. Further investigation proves this to be incorrect, reports suggest July/August/early September. NO!
Sorry everyone

It is supposed to be open on 8th, July this year.
You can apply for its membership now, and it will last till 8th, July, 2010, which means you can get 2 months free membership. Meanwhile you get 30K exchange ticket.
The location is here.

Problem fixed. Though the real place is not where the arrow points.
The real Costco is at the place where says "고려제강" ( upper left to the arrow) |

| There are several CostCo locations in Korea. I love Cost Co. Maybe they will hire me to be their spokesperson. |

| Magmi? Surprised to see it open around there, but it is pretty central I suppose. |

So can anyone confirm the date? I heard July 16th.
I want my salami pack and cracked pepper cheese...ah I can smell it now.
If I bought a membership in Daejeon Costco in November last year, I can assume I can use it in Busan until what date? or don't you have to update your membership? |

I went over today and paid for the membership. It was 35K and I got 30K worth of coupons back (usable across three different time frames, ie. 3 shopping trips). The first one expires on 7/19.
So, they must be opening soon. I heard 7/8 on another internet board. The shelves looked stocked when I was there signing up but no one was being allowed in.
I took the green line to Centum City then bus 115. After it crosses the river, go about 5 or 6 blocks. The ideal stop has a walk over for the highway. Walk across/over the highway and then one block into the neigborhood. You should be close enough to see the building from there. |

Is there a way to find other buses that will go to Costco (for those of us who will come from the other direction on the green line)?
I sure wish the bus system in this town was as easy to figure out as the subways! |

http://bus.busan.go.kr/ works pretty good.
After the front page, click on the "front of the bus" on the bottom right of the page. From there you can zoom to neighborhoods. you have to zoom in pretty far but finally you see bus stops on the map. Double click one of the bus stops and it shows what bus routes stop there on the left of the page.
LASTLY, click on the bus number on the left of the page and it shows the route on the map.
It sounds harder than it is and if we spoke Korean it would I am sure be even easier.
PS... this only works in IE for me and not my other browser programs. |
