About a year ago this time there was post after post saying it was time to stand up to the boss and demand a raise to compensate for the plummeting Won. Now that the currency is down to W1207 to the US $, it should be about time to ask the boss to reduce salaries so that you are making the same as when you arrived. After all, what is sauce for the goose....

I have a ways to go yet. I arrived when the exchange rate was in the W800s. What's your tipping point number?

Yeah when the won to dollar hits 1000 I plan to ask for a readjustment allowance. It will be donated to ATEK, or the agency is that represents the will of a person to stay in the news longer than deserved for miniscule reasons, or just generally wants to hinder the relationship of people from different countries.

Continue on with your mission to make the whole group look a fool for the actions a few deranged souls. long live the stupid.

Should get back to 1000 by next year. Then we're good again. I personally just stayed for longer than I had planned to. That turned out to be a very good thing.

I think the won-dollar rate was around 1250 when I first came to Korea in 2001 - so I'm doing OK (if I can stay away from Seoul Racecourse Park ...)

I arrived when it was around 890. It was disheartening to see it go to 1600 at one point this year, but what can I say? I get paid pretty well here and don't feel the need to send money home other than once a year. Hopefully the next exchange will be better. Laughing
