I went to the bank and parked where I assumed was ok (many other cars parked along the very same street). I finished with the bank and the car was still there so I decided to get some take-out to bring home for lunchee. Low and behold after 10 minutes of getting my food and coming back out the car had vanished. I got it back after paying the towing fee and will have to pay a parking ticket as well. What a "Sparkling" day to add to my already crappy last couple of weeks.

Did those cars have passes in the windows? Did you check?
I once got a ticket back home for parking in a "snow lane". Never mind that there was no snow at that time of year (there was actually a very warm rain that night) and it was only illegal to park there from 12am-5am. I left at 12:30 am and only found out about the ticket a month later when I got a notice saying I had 1 day to pay it. There was also no signage in the area stating it was a snow lane or it was illegal to park there.. fighting it didn't seem to help..

No crossmr I didn't check for passes on the other cars. I appearantly parked in a place that it is implied that it is illegal to do so there (no signs saying otherwise; guess I should have studied the Korean DL book before taking the test lol).

I can only laugh about it. I have my car back with help from the bank girl...btw if anyone needs expat banking services near Jamsil, go with the KEB branch beside Lotte Castle Gold. My banker is sweet and quite helpful.

Parking is a pain in most major cities, which is why I'm glad the subway is so useful here. Outside of possibly getting a scooter, I can't say I have any desire to try and drive and park here.
