Hey there...
I'm considering Taiwan for a year (starting next year sometime) and I have a few questions for those of you who have taught there and in Korea...
All the questions are sort of compared to Korea...
What's the pay/saving money like there???
What's the tax like?
Cost of living?
Do they pay your airfare?
Is it a good place to be/live?
Do they pay for your flat?
Thanks in advance

The best place for info is the International Forum. Once you go there you can select Taiwan. However, for some reason Dave's requires separate registration for posting and pm'ing. |

I never worked there, but I went job-searching there once. Before I went there, I was hearing the salaries were around NT$60,000 per month (about US$1800). I have no idea if such salaries actually exist, because all I could find were schools that wanted to pay around NT$500 per class for about 20 classes per week, which is closer to NT$40,000 (US$1200) per month. |
