If anyone's interested in purchasing a Kindle 2 that's in mint condition please contact me. It comes with two different cases and screen protectors. The price is 450,000 KRW which is 100,000 won cheaper than I paid for it. There is NOTHING wrong with the unit; I'm selling it because I want to purchase a netbook.

For more information on the Kindle 2, please visit Amazon's website:

http://www.amazon.com/

If you're interested in buying this, please call me at 010-2430-1411.

Thanks,

Bryan

If what you are selling is just a black and white reader, it's not worth more than 200,000 new.

If you are selling it for less than 100,000 won, I am interested. Where are you located? Have you tested it under sunlight?

before commenting on what its worth new, you should have a look at the site the seller posted. On amazon.com the kindle he is talking about is 359$ new. Pretty sure 359$ is more than 200,000 won.

Actually, I double checked the price and the unit was purchased for the equivalent of 455,000 KRW but with the cases, scratch resistant covers, and a reading light which I forgot to mention, I paid in total 550,000 KRW.

I'm willing to negotiate, but the unit is definitely worth way over 200,000 KRW. I've only used it sparingly for two months and I live in Incheon.

Thanks for your interest.

aarons27,

I did do my research, did you?

The bottom line: While it's still short of perfection--and has a price tag that's too high--the Amazon Kindle 2 offers a range of improvements that makes it the best overall e-book reader we've seen to date

For those considering the Kindle 2, look also at Kindle DX. It will allow you to view .pdf files without converting, along with a bigger screen. The Kindle 2 was just released in February of this year. So, whoever is selling it now only used it for 4-5 months at most. Why are they trying to resell it so early? Apparently, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

I would offer 100,000 won after testing it under sunlight. This might be something where the seller can feel justified in asking to be reimbursed because they paid too much for it, but in a year or so I am sure the value will go down significantly and they won't be able to demand such a high price. Just my 2 cents. If you want to waste your money away instead of getting a netbook (OH, THAT'S WHY THEY ARE SELLING IT!! Laughing ) then be my guest.

Why are you harassing this person? That's a pretty harsh way to engage in low balling by browbeating at the same time.

Ebook readers use a special low glare LCD that simulates paper to lower eyestrain (and for reading in strong light). They are ergonomic, featherweight, and easier for reading books than a laptop, and also have a digital content distribution service attached to them similar to Itunes for buying/subscribing to content.

I don't think you're familiar with this product at all, and $100 is ridiculous for this item, looks like the lowest for used ones on Ebay completed auctions is $300.

You may not agree, but this is not an unreasonable ad that required spiffing.

I know several people who own them and love them. To each his own.

Are you able to download from the Kindle store while in Korea? Get daily US papers downloaded every day via subscription?

If the answers to these questions are YES, then I'm very interested.

This is the big question because otherwise you can only put on PDF files (that's the only other file it'll read) and I wonder how simple that process is.

I didn't know harrassing meant posting an offer and CNET review. The seller is welcome to simply turn down my offer. Nothing personal. If they were willing to accept 100,000 won, you wouldn't think it was harrassing.

There are many variables making it the price it is. If it were a device designed for a handicap, I could see a medical cost making it more than 200,000. However, that is not how this is advertised.

In fact, I'll answer your next comment with more FACTS. I haven't seen you supply any, but you sure have decided to attack me on a personal level. All I am doing is making an offer (low I understand, but all I want to offer), and give info to someone considering it.

I haven't used it, but I have looked it up, cause I am SERIOUSLY considering buying one. I had a notebook and I want to read a book my father wrote. It strained my eyes, so I sold the notebook (actually traded it).

So, I have done more research than you I bet. Here is more info I found while researching earlier
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe98uzFOpxU

They compare that with the Sony Reader 7000. I actually don't like the Sony Reader, but at least it shows where the price might have come from. They wanted to make something which was just under the Sony Reader. Sony is a big name, so, you're most likely paying for the Sony name if you buy a Kindle 2.

I am not spliffing. Spliff would post links to products people are clearly selling at a higher price (compared to the actual value) than what you could get elsewhere. What I am doing is different. I am showing links and info indicating the item is overpriced from the beginning, not by the seller's doing, but from the cost by the company.

Sometimes, companies sell things that have a good price (like getting a mp3 player, video camera, or printer at a lower than normal cost). Other times, companies seem to try to milk buyers, and in this case it seems clear Kindle was competing against Sony to provide a product rather than offer something economical to read content in black and white.

That's how I handle business.with fellow teachers. Give the buyer a deal philosophy. If you don't, there is nothing wrong with it. I don't feel morally comfortable selling something for 20% profit.

Also, wanting something in color if the cost is more than 300,000 is not a crime. The seller probably feels the same way, which is why they are looking to get a netbook.

I will make the first offer than: 400,000 won conditional on that I can load my own TXT files on there as obviously the whispernet service is useless in Korea.

Hi Everyone,

The Kindle 2 is a solid product and mine works GREAT! You can email your Kindle account all kinds of files and download them from Amazon.com for free. Also, according to this link PDF files can be put on your Kindle 2 as well:

http://ireaderreview.com/2008/01/18/how-to-view-pdf-files-on-the-kindle/

Additionally, you can download newspapers and magazines daily via a USB Cable.

The lowest I'll sell the Kindle for with all accessories is 400,000 KRW. This includes:

One leather case
One sleeve case (never used)
One reading light (never used)
Screen protectors (never used)

Honestly, this is a fair deal, considering you're getting extra accessories and a Kindle 2 that's barely been used all for below the standard selling price.

You can wire the money to me via PayPal (which has consumer protection) and I'll ship the product to you the next day with a tracking number.

Like I said earlier, the only reason I'm selling this is because I want a netbook that I can easily lug around Seoul with me while I work on my master's degree.

Thanks,

Bryan

P.S. I'm unable to PM people because I haven't made enough posts on this board, so if you're still interested in buying the product, please send me a PM or call me at the previously listed number.

How low would you go without all the accessories?
