My brother just got his BA and is trying to apply for a job onbase. He recently called the Human Resources Dept. for the agency hiring people to work at Osan and he is pretty much under qualified for many jobs (many overseas hires have to have a MA). But he wants to apply to be a food service worker there and the qualifications are a high school diploma and the ability to do simple mathematics.
But he is worried that he might be overqualified because he has a BA. But he does have an Associate Degree and if possible, go take a culinary certification course at the local community college.
His goal is to work in a Mess Hall for at least a few years before applying for another job there (it would be easy to switch then since he would already have an A-3 visa).
The question is; should he omit his BA from his resume or leave it as is? |

He certainly CAN if he wants to. Whether he should or not, in terms of helping him get the job, is a more difficult question. He might have a difficult time later if he decides he wants to declare his BA with the same organization (old resume and new resume not matching) |
