Ok, why is sentence 2 incorrect?
1.He doesn't like to see people get rid of the things they can still use.
2.He doesn't like to see people get rid of the things they still can
use. |

It isn't incorrect. The english does sound wrong though. |

It's not. Grammar = usage + time. In Elizabethan/King James England you could get away with "they can use still." |

2 - could also be a regional thing...but descriptively that formation is often used in negation - I still can't decide if I like 2000 10 or 20 10 better.
The first sentence if far more common, while the second more common in negation, which may be why it sounds odd to some when reading it. |
