Would I have a problem depositing a U.S. based company check into my personal account at KB?

My experience with cashing cheques outside issuing country isn't good. Tends to take a while for the bank to verify and will usually charge a fairly large fee. Attempt it if you're stuck.

Personally, i'd sign and send it to someone back home to cash....which of course has its own worries and issues.

Maybe someone else can give you better advice.

It can take 1 to 2 months to deposit the check. Also, they will charge a big fee.

It is much faster (and cheaper) just to mail the check home to someone you know and have them deposit it into your account.

mail it DIRECTLY to your bank in the States.

make sure to:

-Sign the back, also write FOR DEPOSIT ONLY and your account #

-use K post airmail. (should take no longer than a week)

-do not process the letter/ stuff the envelope at the post office

-avoid using the word BANK on the envelope.

Your bank will accept it, then deposit it as a normal domestic deposit.

Then take the funds out at a Global ATM in your dong.

I use Pusan Bank and my American checks clear in about 5 minutes. They electronically verify which American bank it originates and BINGO. Sorry people, I don't understand why your banks operate in this manner.

I am also suprised at KB bank. I was told it was the cream of the crop.

Anyone verify this? That'd be awesome if true.
