I'm new to this forum, and I haven't been to Korea yet, though I am planning to apply for work there in the near future. I'm currently in Brisbane Australia, and I understand that I will have to attend an interview at the nearest Korean Consulate as part of the visa process. The problem is that there is no Korean Consulate in Brisbane, so that would mean a trip to Sydney.

Are there any other Australians in Korea who have recently jumped through the same hoops, and can you please advise me whether I need to anticipate a trip to Sydney or whether they will allow a telephone interview, or whether I will get the E2 via a visa run to Japan after going initially to Korea. I read all sorts of stuff online, but it's hard to figure out the current facts.

Any advice please? Thanks, John.
