|
|
I'm making a movie trivia game for my students and I need to find movie clips from movies that they are at least somewhat familiar with.
I need comedies, classic(godzilla, star wars), animated, and romantic movie titles. Action movies list took me like 3 minutes to create.
So far I got:
comedy:
My Sassy Girl(yes I know, its korean, but I'm not very strict on the american only rule)
pirates of the carribean
classic:
Godzilla
Star wars
Animated:
Lion King
Wall-E
Romantic:
Titanic
could really use some help here. thanks. |

Exactly how old are your students? I'd ask a Korean teacher for help with
this one.
They would know "Shrek". Although students don't recognize the name
"The Wizard of Oz" - they would be familiar with this movie. Some students might be familiar with Charlie Chaplin. Even if they aren't,
they'd get a good laugh if you pick a good clip. Many students know
Tom Cruise.
As for Korean movies, they'd recognize Moon Geun Young for sure. |

Oh shrek, thats a good one.
I have no idea who Charlie Chaplin is(I'm 27 years old).
My students are middle school students. I will be using this game with all three grades, so I need movies that even the grade 1's would know. |

Harry Potter is pretty popular, as are the Simpsons, don't know about the movie, though. |

What?! Really?
Anyway, I'd add The Sound of Music to your list. My students all know the "Do Re Mi" song. |

Aladdin and The Little Mermaid are sure bets.
However, having taught from the English Land series, Not all Disney flicks are. The Jungle Book characters get a blank look every time. |

I just thought of two more that my middle school students seem to be familiar with: King Kong and Jaws. |

I think my sassy girl might be beyond some kids depending on how old they are. It was popular but it was years ago now.
There was just an incredibly crappy american remake starring Elisha Cuthbert. |

MAXEnglish Ani has a collection of antique Disney films with Korean subs. Pretty much the entire Disney catalogue can be picked up for under 300k. Otherwise:
Harry Potter
Night at the Museum
Transformers
Knowing
The Mummy
and some others I don't think are American, like D-War and Dragon Warrior. |
