I've noticed some vile language on this website.

This language has no place on a professional messageboard. I am asking you politely to knock it off.

If you don't knock it off, I will report your posts to the moderators and do my best to get you banned from the board.

You've been warned. Now please straighten up and act professionally.

For the last month or more Dave's has actually been a pretty good place as far as swearing is concerned. I wouldn't be posting about reporting them... if you're really offended, just do it.

I used to work in Big Bay, Michigan and at the Thunder Bay Inn there was a sign that read as follows

"Profanity is the linguistic tool of the inarticulate."

I find that to be so true sometimes.

I find it intersting that as the proportion of Yanks has increased considerably over the past year so has the concern over naughty words. I'm a little active on a Thai teaching forum composed of more Brits and Aussies than Yanks, where any language goes. Interestingly, there are also fewer personal attacks or people throwing little tantrums because they were offended by this or that post.

I also find it interesting that in all my years of Internet time-killing I've only ever been banned by forums that are American owned and (mostly American) moderated. Is there something about frank and adult discussion (many of) them can't deal with?

We "Yanks" do have problems with that Razz
You have to put us back in line!

And in any case, a lot of American english teachers aren't exactly linguists with a passion for language.

"These be her very c's, her u's, and her t's, and thus she makes her great p's"

Profound or profane? It's a country matter...

While I don't believe in using profanities on public forums such as this, your holier than thou comment is [MOD EDIT], [MOD EDIT], [MOD EDIT], [MOD EDIT], [MOD EDIT], [MOD EDIT],.

Who are you to warn others? If you don't like it, just report it.

That said, rather than call you an ugly name, I will just call you a troll.
