Does anybody have any suggestions for a coursebook for my after school class? They are at a very low level, and are essentially beginners. They know their ABC's and that's about it!
Any help would be great appreciated!

Let's go 1 if they are grade 3 or above
English time 1 if they are weak grade 3 beginners or just normal beginers grades 1 / 2
For REAL BEGINNERS who are grade 1 or 2 and who only know phonics and some numbers I would strongly reccomend - Magic time 1
Hope it helps.
Make sure you get the teacher's cd with whatever choice you make as the listening / speaking exercises and songs / chants are pretty good and fun too.
At the start ofhe class sing a monthly song, here's a good site - http://www.britishcouncil.org/kids-songs-seasons.htm
Then drill them on the new vocab / do pairwork/ writing exercises etc and finish with a game that recycles the target language of the day. |
