I am interested in finding a place in Gangnam.
I've been searching listings at a few websites and haven't found much for under 1 million won/month. The only site that seemed to have anything in that range was nearsubway.com.
Can anyone recommend other websites that might help out?
I've tried:
http://housing.justlanded.com - not tons of listings
short-rent.com - some places, all expensive
sublet.com -nothing
Suggestions? I'd love to do this as cheaply as possible but can stay only a max of 6 months. |

Find a neighborhood -dong in Gangnam you like and just walk into any of real estate offices (they are everywhere). Tell them what you are looking for and they will be more than happy to help you. I would say half have at least one person who can speak basic english to figure out what you want.
There are many places for under a million, but you will probably be looking at an older basement apt villa or a sub 13-pyong apartment/officetel. |

So that would entail me being in Korea? I am not there yet but thinking about just heading out and trying my luck.
And 13 pyeong what would that be in sq feet? 13 x 3.3 sq m x 9 sq ft in sq m? Like less than 400 sq ft? |

A search online told me that 1 pyeong = approximately 3.9 square yards or 3.4 square meters. You can do the maths, sorry I don't know about feet.
My apt in Gangnam is about 6x6 meters for the living area, plus a bathroom and a laundry room. I pay significantly less than 1 million a month with 5 million key money. It's not a basement apt but it is in a villa (a small building without an elevator). I think you will have to be here to find an apartment. I wouldn't suggest taking one site unseen. |

1 Pyeong is 35.58 sq feet, so you'd be looking at about 450-500 sq feet for a 13-14 pyeong place. |
