|
|
Firstly, sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn't find anything both through google advanced search or through web search on the topic.
My question is this: Is there a free mac-compatible codec to convert avi files to mp4 available? I can't find one that a) isn't for windows and b) is free.
I just bought an iPod classic and I want to through some videos on it.
Thanks in advance & am truly sorry if the answer to this is plainly obvious => buy the codec. |

What you need is a file converter.
Here is a freeware program to turn your video into into what you need: http://www.squared5.com/ You can also batch process with this. I remember someone else posting another good freeware program a bit back that can also batch process video files for an ipod, maybe someone else will post that. In Snow Leopard I think quick time will be able to convert video files automatically, but I'm not sure. |

Wow, thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for.
Can't sort out how to process files in batches, but I'll figure it out.
Cheers, Swigs! |

List > Batch List (then just drag and drop the files in the list) |
