I bought some milk about a week ago that had been expired for about 3 days. It's still good today. Wow!

Haha, lucky [MOD EDIT]. I had milk that wasn't going to be expired for another 5 days and it smelled more sour than kimchi jigae.

The best milk I have found is called Denmark milk. Most of the Korean milk has a sour taste to it.

I had it delivered to my house 3 times a week. If you go through a delivery service, you can choose what kind you want. Whereas most big grocery stores might only carry one kind of Denmark milk, if any.

A recent Telegraph (from the UK) article talked about how much food we waste because we follow the *expiry date* so religiously.

People misunderstand the date printed on food containers to mean "you must eat this before this date or you will get food poisoning", whereas the date really is there to show you that it is "recommended" that you consumed this food before this date. Later than that the texture/taste may change, but it is NOT BAD and you won't die!!!

So they are going to change the way they will label food.

Smell test is the best way of telling if food's gone bad or not. But of course, better safe than sorry....

Good brands?
How tell what is Skim? 1%? etc.

I used to buy Denmark milk (the blue pack) religiously, but over the last couple of months I've noticed a deterioration in the taste. Perhaps it's me, but it seems to taste artificial. I'm in the process of trying different brands.
