Do you work for either of these companies? What would you say are the advantages and disadvantages? Please include your thoughts on salary, office environment, housing and anything else you consider relevant. Thanks in advance.

I hear working for Samsung is like being in the army, only you wear a suit. A guy I know worked for them. He wasn't well-liked, although I can't say he's a very likable guy for foreigners, either. They kind of gave him stuff to do here and there, but didn't always use what he did. He wasn't big on socializing with the locals, which I'm sure didn't help.

I think he was making between 2 and 3 million won a month. Maybe it was 3. Can't remember.

thanks derrek.

this guy you know doesn't sound like he did alot on his end to help make a pleasant work environment. i find that 'aspect' of the job to be particularly important in EFL offices. a smile goes a long way.

i didn't expect to get too many replies from current employees, but hopefully some people who have moved on will see the original post and chime in.
