I live out of Seoul in a pretty small burg. I like it, but the downside is the local shopping SUCKS! I live out of Seoul and come in by bus to Kangnam. I want to start doing a once a month shopping trip to Costco and am wondering if someone can let me know the closest one to Kangnam? Thanks.

The Yangjae Costco isn't exactly close to Gangnam. Also, its a pain in the butt to get to. There is no subway stop close to it, and only a couple neighborhood buses stop there.

Factoring the money it would cost to take a cab to and from that Costco, you are better off ordering your products from the places that deliver costco good (exshopkorea for example).

But Yangjae is still the closest to Gangnam although after you get there you're probably best off catching a cab to that Costco.

The stores online that have costco products are www.ezshopkorea.com and www.hellocost.co.kr

Is there something special you want to buy?

Block cheese, Campbells' Soup, black olives, Mexican type foods. You can't even get decent cheese, pickles or olives in my town, the shopping is HORRIBLE! Koreans think that cheese has to come in separately wrapped slices or it isn't REALLY cheese. Kimche and rice are OK, but tiresome all the time.

You can buy all of that stuff around Itaewon and Haebangchon.
