Not a bad place to work at, though the pay is not the best. From what I had heard, teachers make less than 2 million a month.
Andong itself is a very nice place to work in. Clean air (well, cleaner than anywhere else I have seen in Korea), etc. There are many beautiful places to see and a core of ex-pats living there.
As for negatives: NEVER hook up with a Korean guy who goes by the name of "monster". He truly is a monster.
There are also a few real English-grabbers hanging out in Andong. By that I mean Koreans who say something like "I want to be your friend, but let's only speak English, okay?"
Hmm..some "friends". The moment you start to show you can speak Korean, they are off to find a new foreigner to hang out with.
Anyway, I would take the job if it's his first time to Korea. The hours are not bad, and there are a lot of holidays. BUT keep an eye on the contract!
If he/she has been around a few years and money is a consideration, look elsewhere.
If your friend wants more info. on Andong, he/she can PM me. |
