|
|
Hi,
I recently got married and have just received my F-2 visa. My plan is to leave my current job and try to get a good schedule of part-time jobs going. My question is this: will I have to provide a new CRC document to each new job? Also, will university transcripts be needed everywhere? I've been in my current job for three and a half years and have a CRC from when I started. Is this still valid? I think I'll be mostly applying for hogwan jobs. Any other useful information would be much appreciated. |

I'm kind of in the same boat. And I don't think there's a soul out there who knows the answer--including Korean immigration. |

I've never been asked for a CRC--have had my F-2 and now F-5 for a few years.
Employers prefer the F visas because they don't have to do anything, and neither do you. |

You will not be required to provide a CBC or transcripts for a part time or full time hagwon job. They may ask to see your diploma to ensure you meet MOE requirements for having a degree. If you apply for work at a public school a CBC will probably be necessary.
You have an F2 visa which means you have essentially the same work rights as a Korean national. Immigration is no longer concerned in any way with where you work or what you do for a living. |

Once you have an F-series visa, you only submit a CRC if the employer asks you for one. If they don't, you don't need to provide one at all. You are not beholden to Immigration for your jobs anymore, and besides they only ask CRCs of E2-holders anyway, a group you no longer belong to. |

Just wanted to add the only thing that is asked for legal privates is your degree to register you with the local education office of wherever you're teaching. |

If you have your F-Visa, sign up to AFEK where there is much more discussion about legal privates.

If you are on an F2 visa, your spouse is your primary sponsor, therefore you do not have to provide a CRC to immigration.
More importantly, if your employer asks for a CRC you do not have to comply as it is an immigration requirement and not a private employer requirement.
If they are adamant about receiving a CRC then you may demand that they pay for the trouble you have to go through to acquire one. How you wish to proceed on such a matter is entirely up to you.
Since a CRC is strictly for visa approval they do not have the right to ask you for it, and it's a matter a privacy, and if you really are assertive you can turn around and ask them for one too considering they too are 'involved' in the 'education' industry.
Furthermore, regarding privates and an F2, before you bother with anything, ask your future employer and more importantly any recruiter you are dealing with for their business registration number and I guarantee you that will stop any further 'taxation' issues for you. |
