Hey all,

I need to sell my motorbike. I hardly use it since becoming a father, and my new place does not have a place to park inside, so it will be left to rust if I keep it.

No idea of the year, and it has just under 20,000 Km on the clock. It is silver, has a lockbox and saddlebags, and rides just great. In the past week I took it out for the first time in over a year. I had to kick-start it as the battery was flat, but a nice 60Km ride charged the battery up so the electric starter is all good now.

The front and back tyres are in excellent condition, and I replaced the ignition and fuel cap about 18 months ago as the original ignition was a little worn out.

It spots oil, as most bikes do, but there is no serious leakage. I left it in storage for a year and when I went and changed the oil it had only lost around 100ml.

The front forks could use a looking at, as the suspension is a little spongy. It's not a major problem, but a quick servicing would make the ride a little more comfortable. The brake fluid could probably use a top-up too, as I have never bothered.

I have had this bike since 2007, and it has been kept in underground storage since then. This past week it has been rained on due to it being chained up outside. In the past I have ridden the bike from Cheongju to Uijeongbu with no problems, and have been on a few weekends away with the wife, before she was the wife. It handles two people just fine. I have recently ridden from Dongducheon to Seoul, and then did a commute to Dongducheon and back the next day. Again, no problems.

It comes with 2 helmets (if you want them) - 1 closed and one open face. It also has a nice chunky chain.

Obviously, the bike comes with no papers. I bought it from another foreigner who did not have them either. I have no idea if it is possible to get it registered, so won't be answering questions about that.

I will entertain offers over 200K, and will give 24 hours after the first offer for people to better it. First person to offer 400K closes the bidding. I am located near Bulgwang station (NW Seoul). This is a more than fair price, and somebody will most likely snatch up a bargain.

I will be posting this on another forum too, but will keep the price updated on all.

In the spirit of helpfulness...

No papers...no way to register.

But there are probably dodgy ways around that, if you catch my drift.

For most foreigners here, I think vehicle registration is not all that high a priority, but if one had a mishap, not having proper papers could be dicey.

Frankly, I'd not be willing to do it.

All true.

You did remind me that I do have a set of motorcycle registration papers here that I have no use for. They are not for this bike, but I could also pass them on to the new owner so that they could acquire a Korean number plate for 'entertainment value'...

The police don't care about bike registration here, hence my lack of plate, but there would be problems if you have an accident.

The first offer is in. If anybody wants to make an offer, there will be 24 hours before I complete the deal.

That is 11:30am Korea time (or 6:30pm Dave's time).
