Do they not have rulebooks they can consult or any consistency whatsoever?
When I e-mailed the Korean Consulate in LA they said I MUST have a letter of sponsorship from a Korean national to get a D-4 (language study) visa. When I talked to someone on the phone in Seattle (where I am now) they said I only need proof of money in the bank.
Also it's annoying that there are multiple entry C-3 visas, but no multiple entry D-4 visas. Why would that be? (I mean whatever, I am there to study hard for 6 months and not go gallivanting about, but it still seems odd). |

I think you need one or the other, a banking statement or a korean sponsor. Not sure though. |

Yeah, that would make sense. I just find odd that one person would tell me "You MUST do this" and another would say, "Nah, don't worry about that." When it comes to rules and procedures, I just imagine a big drawer filled with loose, unfiled paper in the consulate office, rather than binders or books or information. |
