Hi,
I was wondering what topics do you teach with SMOE positions? Is it mostly or all conversation classes? Reading, writing, grammar?
Thanks. |

I review what the particular Korean teacher has taught in the preceding week(s) with a conversational bent. At least that way some of them know what I'm talking about. If a class has only just learned "It's a quarter past four", it's quite a good idea for them to practice saying it and hearing it said by a native speaker.
Personally, I recommend the 'review approach', as it's a bit more fail-safe. Try to teach them something new and you'll get way off topic and probably into overly difficult terrain.
Ask the co-teacher, "What did they do last week?", and go from there.
Others may care to disagree, but this works well for me. And the kids. And the Korean teacher. |
