Dear Korean teachers, if any of these apply to you, you are unfit to be in the classroom.

1. You use corporal punishment against your students. This, of course, is illegal, making you a criminal.
2. You teach your students to hate certain other countries, and to look down on others because of their skin colour.
3. You are indifferent to the suffering of animals, and pass this indifference on to your students.
4. You eat dog meat, knowing full well the conditions in which they are raised, and how they are killed. Such a person should not be responsible for the moral instruction of young minds.
5. You litter and spit on the street. This shows a disrespect for others and (at best) an indifference to public health.
6. You beat your wife and/or kids.
7. You regularly run red lights. This shows disrespect for authority as well as public safety.
8. You fail to put your children in safety belts, and your infants in safety seats. Someone who shows such callous disregard for the wellbeing of their own children, should not have any role in the raising of other peoples' children.
9. Your children never see you during the week, except when you stumble home drunk at midnight.
10. You think it's okay that students show open disrespect to foreign teachers, even though you'd cane them if they did the same to you. This shows a lack of common decency and empathy/respect for others, making you an unfit person to be in the classroom.

Thanks for the reminders-- really needed these.

I've been using capital punishment on my kids instead of corporal punishment, so I should be on the "good teacha" list.

Did you have a bad day?

Perhaps you are not cut out to be working here as a teacher if so many things require a 'rant' like this?

Your top 10
1. corporal punishment is definitely still legal in Korean schools- go check the law.
2.Discrimination is rife in all nations no matter what nationality.
3. What animal was suffering that upset you?
4. Eating dog meat is legal in Korea but is not easily available, unless you know where to look for it. When did you get a meal/special soup of it ?
5.Litter- did you witness the amazing clean streets after the soccer world cup? How litter free are your own country's streets and cities?
6. wow! so wife and child abuse only applies to Koreans? Do you close your eyes in your own country?
7. Running red lights ? Come on! perhaps you need to stay on roads without light systems to asssit your safety?
8. Using seat belts in vehicles ? Are you the morals police? sad to see this done -but it is done by many in many countries.
9.Long work hours and drinking ? Which perfect society is this compared to?
10. I can see you had a bad day and your students got to see you lack of cultural perspective and personality?

Result

Either realize you are in a different culture than your own and work out a way to adjust to it and find the good as well as the bad - or leave Korea, its not the right place for you.

Your logic seems to be , my dear blonde, that if you can find a person in another country engaged in similar behavior it is acceptable?

Did you ever hear of logic? guess not. Ok how about saying "Afghans murder their kids, so it must be ok." ITS THE SAME THING. The OP said "BEATING YOUR WIFE MAKES YOU MORE UNQUALIFIED TO BE WITH KIDS" You have said "No it doesn't, cause people in america beat their wife." God, why am I arguing with dumb people again?

I disagree with #4, otherwise, yes, but labelling 'unqualified' and 'unfit' should not be used so easily, lest you become just like the K media.

Yeah -- this is pretty obvious that it's geared toward Korean teachers. Why generalize a whole race of people?

The OP specified these remarks apply to Korean Teachers. In that respect, I agree with most of these points.

I fully agree with the dog eating part, considering how they are tortured. Almost every K-teacher I have ever seen uses corporal punishment.

Right....only teachers. And I was generalizing.

Idiots.

The OP is a K-basher; painting with a slightly smaller brush doesn't make it any different.

What if...

I do drugs but don't eat dog.

Am i still fit to be a teacher?

lol.... sorry the dog one is irrelevant. Some of what you said makes sense but it's not airtight.
