Me and my g.friend are contemplating doing a year in Korea teaching. However one of the main obsticles that we have encountered in our planning has been the fact that she is vegetarian (does not eat fish either). How hard is it to survive in seoul as a veggie? impossible or can it be done. I am aware that u can buy tofu, pulses and some seasonal vegetables-but will she be able to eat? also does anyone have any info on how much it costs 2 get food shipped over...thanks a lot |

Yes, you can do it. Don't expect Korean restaurants to change out ingredients in their dishes though. The onus will be on you to choose the appropriate menu items. Here's something to think about in the meantime...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-P2g7smQME |

Its 100% doable, though maybe a little more challenging than at home. Tons of vegetarians have been there, and lived to tell the tale, including me. You might want to check out the Seoul Veggie Club on facebook for some good resources. |
