|
|
Hello,
I am a Korean-American with family in Korea; I believe I would be referred to as a "gyo-po." Which visa would you recommend I obtain?
A standard E-2?
or
A F-1 visa (sponsored by family member in Korea)?
or
A F-4? |

| Is this a trick question? From what I know, I would recommend the F Series based on Korean ancestry. I sure wish I had one. You wouldn't be bound to your employer based on your visa status leaving you free to quit. Your visa remains in tact. You are free to do things that are illegal for those of us on an E-2 visa. |

The F-1 does not allow you to work, so you may want to forget about that one |

I thought the F-1 did. I know the F-3 doesn't. I haven't looked into though. That is why I said the one based on ancestry. |

| F4 all the way. Its the standard Gyopo visa. It lets you work and do all that stuff, apparently you don't need much paperwork for it and renewing it consists of saying "Hey". |
