No it isn't!

Although most P/S will be closed - it's up to your P.

If you work for a private school, i'd say slim to no chance!

It's a national holiday. So is Presidential election day in December.

It's a national holiday, but it's just too easy and tempting for a hagwon to stay open. Just don't ask, assume and stay home and then when they call you just don't answer and walk in the next day with a smile on your face. They will be pissed off and possibly try to fire you, but stand your ground and take what is rightfully yours.

Despite the misinformation by posters above, the answer is No. Election days are not national holidays. They are not "red" days on the calendar.

On election days, government offices and banks are closed. Most government schools will be closed since voting is held in many government schools.

April 11 and Presidential election day are not national holidays.

Businesses of all kinds are not required to close.

stfu ontheway, you are really getting annoying, you have no clue of whats going on just like all your bs about independent contractors

a lot of business will be closed the 11th, my wife's company is closed as are a lot of companies and my univ is also off then (my usual day off so I don't really benefit) and i bet the ranch neither one is being used as a polling place, if you arent in retail/food service etc, then odds are you will get the day off like you will on Dec 19th.

Any business can choose to be closed. It is, however, not required for them to close with the exception of banks. Banks are also forced to be closed on Saturdays when other businesses are not. Some choose to be open some are closed.

ontheway is right.

Its a partial national holiday. Most hagwons, I think you'll find, will opt to be open as usual.

My school is open. Unless you want to unnecessarily piss off your employer, assume you have class. Even better... just ask them?
