Hey guys,
I know this is a bad place to be, but right now I am really low in funds and I am not sure how I am going to get the funds for my plane ticket to Korea. Does anyone has any ideas? I already talked to my recruiting agency and they are not planning to help. Things are bad with my family and I can't ask them for help. I just checked the ticket is about 700 hundred dollars. So any ideas , has anyone been in a similar situation?

I was in a similar situation to you last year and my recruiter helped - they sent me an e-ticket and they got the money back from the school - mind you - telling them I couldn't come if they didn't stump up helped!

Mind you - on these fraught times of a zillion teachers coming to Korea they may not help you.

If you haven't signed and sealed the deal - go to another recruiter!

Mine was originally paid for by my recruiter. So, I feel your pain. Been there. Might be more strict now as there is a downturn in the economy. It's hard to say. I assume you're applying for a public school. Many private schools will still pay for the ticket. If you went to a good hogwon and saved cash for a year. It might be an option unless you find a recruiter to pay. But time is ticking for those September openings. If you already have an offer from one employer, going to another recruiter for that same one might be problematic.
