As the title says Im looking for suggestions on TV shows, dramas, or any other media about teaching in Korea. Students, Teachers, Schools, etc. as the subject or backdrop works.

Im in the final week of prep for heading over and I know that knowing some of the stereotypes about education helped a great deal when I went to Japan. Trying to repeat the process.

Sure there is a huge difference between reality and drama, but if you understand the culture of education, both good and bad you can use it to your advantage.
The classroom is unpredictable as hell, so any info is always nice to have when it comes direct from the target culture.

Bump +

I may be flying solo in believing that having an understanding of the cultural stereotypes of education can be beneficial, but will keep on trying.

I wouldn't mind watching something either. I have been watching some K-drama, but nothing with a school theme.

I could recommend you some sites where you can do your own research if you're interested though.

http://www.d-addicts.com/ has a pretty good wikipedia section about dramas, although I don't think you can easily search by genre.

You can find lots of EFL Classroom 2.0.

Go to any of these pages. Prof. Development and our Korea Resources especially the Videos about teaching in Korea.... the ebs videos are great.

On our Teacher's TV, check out the Arirang feed. Often, lots of discussion and education programs streamed. Also the only national English radio station TBS. Much valuable info. can be gleamed there.. http://eflclassroom.ning.com/page/teachers-tv

I'd also suggest that there is a lot of other videos showing demo lessons, teachers teaching in the video catalogue and throughout EFL Classroom 2.0. Further, you will find useful stuff on my own school's site http://setiteachers.ning.com which is specific to training Korean teachers...

Hope this gets you started and yes, good idea to get a look at something approaching reality before heading over...

I do appreciate the answer, and any resource is appreciated.

However I am looking for Korean shows that center around education. I'm curious about the stereotypes and the preconceptions that come direct from the source.

I use D-Addicts quite often and it was a great place to discover more about the Japanese education system, so far no luck with Korea.
