|
|
Hi guys, I have a quick question on certification.
I am planning on doing a 120 hour combined online and weekend TEFL course with a well known company in Ireland. It consists of:
120-hour Weekend TEFL Course
* 20-hour Weekend TEFL Course
* 40-hour Online TEFL Course
* Grammar Awareness Module
* Teaching English to Young Learners
* Teaching Business English
* Teaching with Limited Resources
* Teaching English to Large Classes
* Teaching English One-to-One
* Using Audio and Video in the Classroom
* Cultural Awareness in the Classroom
* How to Teach Pronunciation
Since the course is made up of several different modules, and a separate certificate is issued for each (I've asked), I will not have a single certificate saying '120 hour TEFL Cert'.
Will I still be eligible for the public schools pay increase with my separate certificates that total up to 120 hours?
Thanks a lot. |

Don't bother. Just do the online ITTT Tefl Certificate. Cheaper, easier, and you get the pay bump. If you want something more substantial you'll have to shell out for a CELTA or something along those lines. |

I would recommend the ITTT TEFL certificate aswell. Do it without tutor support to say the pennies. I did to get the pay bump but I did actually learn a few things too.
If you have the cash go for the CELTA or similar! |

I did a 120 hour hr course in Ireland. 20 hr weekend and the rest assignments etc so I had 2 certs.
I got the school in Eire to do me up a letter saying that the certs accumalted to 120 hours.
It was fine. |
