I have 2 passports, and the USA one has my E-2 visa in it. The other, is a European passport.
Has anybody traveled using two passports in/out of Korea? Visa fees are expensive for USA passport when going to Russia/China and a few other countries, but cheaper/or free with my other passport. Has anybody else done this - traveled to China using one passport, and coming back to Korea and showing the one with the appropriate Korean visa in it? Issues? Advice?
Thanks |

Yes, this can be done. You must however, use the same passport to enter and exit the same country. You can not enter in on one passport and try to leave the country on the other one. You will be stopped by Immigration. |

You will often have problems getting a visa (for places like China) in your EU passport if your E2 is in your American passport because you have no entry stamp for Korea in your EU passport.
If you are traveling to places that do not require a visa then you have no worry. Leave Korea with your US passport, enter the other country with your EU passport. Use your EU passport to leave and your US to enter Korea.
You MAY get some flack at the check-in counters (getting the boarding pass) if you use your EU passport to return to Korea. Just use your US passport to get the boarding pass and your EU passport when you go through passport control.

I also have two passports, one of them US. My E2 is in the other. When I go to the US I have to show immigration the passport with my E2, but I have to show the airline my US passport for visa reasons. Then on arrival I show my US one for obvious reasons, and flying out I show my US one, then back at Incheon my E2 visa one comes out again.
Same thing happens for other countries if visa fees are cheaper for the US passport (pretty rare). |
