They look alike.

They think alike.

They live in apartments that look exactly the same.

Is this a free society.

Executioner: Cry out. Just say it. One word. Mercy.

Hamish: Mercy, William, mercy.

Stephen: Jesus, now say it.

Executioner: The prisoner wishes to say a word.

William: FREEEEE-DOMMMMMM!

If they look alike, think alike and live in the same apartments, but they do it by choice, then they are free.

As a friend once said, "The problem with anarchy is there is no one to enforce it."

My interpretation of that is who is to say that we aren't living in a state of anarchy, just we chose to live under the agreed upon constraints of government and law.

A better question might be do Koreans live in the society they want? Another question might be if Koreans knew what the alternatives were would they choose one of the alternatives or would they decide that despite its faults, this is the Korea that is best for them?

You could say the same of a lot of people in Western society, if you were an outsider looking in. I'm sure that Koreans see at least some level of individuality in their society where you, apparently, do not....

Is there ANY free society on this Earth?

People put themselves in a box everywhere you go. It's part of the human condition.

Korea is definantly no less free than the USA. More free in many ways.
