I graduate in December, and I dont get my degree mailed to me until 6-10 weeks after that. Knowing my luck it will take all 10 weeks. I want to teach in SK in late Feb. Is this possible to get all my documents in time or will I have to wait until May or perhaps June?
Kind responses only please |

If you get your diploma and all your other necessary documents by late January I'd say you could get things sorted out before late Feb. Of course, you should be applying while you are waiting for the diploma (and maybe even before graduation).
I think most public schools hire late March, so that would be a slightly less rushed option. Just make sure you do an online TEFL certificate ($200 or so) for a pay bump of 200,000 won. |

I was told that we do not have to have a tefl certificate to teach English in South Korea. Is this not the case? |

You don't need it. But if you choose to work for public schools, it will give you a 200,000 won pay raise. Well worth the $200 and 4 weeks to get it. |

You only get a pay increase if you are going the public school route. I hold a TESOL Certificate, and it doesn't make a damn bit of difference for my salary at a hagwon. |
