I have heard so many different things about when to arrive, how we are being transported to orientation, etc etc, and I'd like to hear from a reliable source.
Anyone who has received their NOA, could you share with us what exactly your NOA says? Not just about arrival, but you know, in general? If you wanted to scan it and post it, that would be awesome. I just want to see what this amazing document that so many of us have been waiting on for so long actually looks like. |

The NOA is just a document with a bunch of Korean on it that you send to your Korean consulate.
There are about four pages of welcome letter that comes along with it. As I've said in other threads, the important information is that you need to arrive on the 23rd (preferably the arrival should be before 4 pm as I guess SMOE won't give you transportation after that) and orientation starts the 24th. Meet at the F terminal of the airport. |

Thanks Alpha, although I've read in other posts that the 4 pm cutoff isn't definite... is this something you heard from SMOE directly or your recruiter? I am looking at a flight that arrives at 4:55.... |

Directly from SMOE in that letter. I think they'll have to be flexible, though. saying that you must arrive between 10-4 is unreasonable. |

If I were to arrive on Saturday, does the 10-4 rule still apply? |

The letter says to arrive on Sunday, not Saturday. You might have to arrange your own transportation or maybe your recruiter will be a dearie and pick you up. |

Not to be a butthead, but to quote you from another post:
"I'll also be arriving 5 am. I was told (by my recruiter) to book a flight that would land between 10 AM- 4 pm (as if this is within our control) as that's when the buses to the re-education....err orientation center will be departing. The only affordable flights I could find landed at 5 am and 6 pm. I should've just taken the one that landed at 6 pm like I'm sure dozens of other people will..."
Did the SMOE letter also say to book between 10 and 4? |

Sorry, you're right. It was the recruiter who said 10-4. But the letter from SMOE does clearly state to arrive on August 23rd. |

I'm wondering if it will be an issue at all if I arrive at 4:55. I would think there will be other people arriving then or later, and there are probably alternate ways to get to the Hyundai center... what do you guys think? |

You're also arriving on a Saturday, right? So you're definitely a day early. Anyway, it's easy to get buses to several locations in and around Seoul for 15,000-25,000 won. Why don't you ask your recruiter about your particular case?
There are indeed probably many other teachers arriving at the same time as you. Problem is they might have different recruiters so there's no way for SMOE to know when people are arriving. |

Sorry, I meant 4:55 on Sunday. I haven't bought my ticket yet. My recruiter has not been very helpful - she told me to arrive on the 24th. I sort of feel like I'm on my own. |
