Went to Peugot dealer and they told me if i wasn't a Korean citizen i had to have a co-signer. Has anyone bought a new car in Korea that isn't married to a Korean citizen? |

My ex-coworker bought a new car a few years ago. Our director co-signed for her. |

I don't know if this helps, but I am married to a Korean citizen and I CAN'T get a car loan. My credit is excellent here, but I was told everywhere I tried no loans for foreigners. I didn't want to put the debt in my wife's name so no luck for me.
One of my old students worked for Mercedes Benz and they will extend finance to foreigners, but I really don't like Mercedes (or Taxi's as they are known), oh and i'm a poor English teacher.
I had to buy an older car for cash but luckily cars depreciate really quickly here. |

Try to save up and pay cash for a car if you can. You could start out with a cheaper car and then save each month for a new car. I saved up for a car by saving for about a year in Korea. My plan was to buy it when I went back to the states but now I'm not sure if I'll ever return.. |
