I know there is nothing comparable to Home Depot or Lowes here, but has anyone come across a good home decorating store where a person can purchase good quality paint and home decorating supplies? Seoul or Suwon area.

hmmm...nothing.

Your local Homeplus is the best that Korea has to offer.

Koreans for the most part live in apartments, and rarely do their own repairs/decorating. They hire people to do it. That's why there is no 'Home Depot' type place here.

On the other hand, you can buy supplies, they are just not under one roof. Paint stores are all over the city, just a matter of spotting one.

As for docorating supplies like "home and living" items, the best place I can think of is Kosney's...there's one in the Forever 21 building in Myeongdong and the Technomart building at Sindorim Station.

Thank you so much for the info. For the last few years I haven't paid that much attention, but now I have the urge to redecorate my place. All over paint, do a tile backsplash, etc. I would love to find something like a Glidden paint store with a zillion great colours to choose from, but I will just have to keep my eyes open for a small store I guess. I will check out your above suggestions. Thanks.

In the underground shopping complex at Express Bus Terminal, there's miles and miles of shops. Most of them are clothing, but there's another section for plants and flowers, and a section for home decor.

The home decor section includes small furnishings, framed pictures, linens and bedding, kitchenware, shelves, vases, and just general decorating type things for apartments. Huge selection.

Wallpaper and wall decals, I've seen them in general dept stores like E-Mart.

Paint, I don't know, but I see lots of little hardware stores with tile, faucets, etc. They must have it.

just buy yourself a decent photo printer and print out some lovely photos of all the exotic places you are visiting and seeing

then tape them up and see what a dif it makes

pick up some little decorative trinkets here and there and hang them up -

a potted plant or 2 (or 3)

visit a dollar store and find something kitchy to put on your fridge

there! voila! ce magnifique ! Wink Wink
